 Sayings on Discipship(Luke Bible_14' 25~33)

 Great crowds were traveling with him, and he turned and addressed them, "If any one comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion? Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unalbe to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him and say, 'This one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.' Or what king marching into battle would not first sit down and decide whether with ten thousand troops he can successfully oppose another king advancing upon him with twenty thousand troops? But if not, while he is still far away, he will send a delegation to ask for peace terms. In the same way, everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple."

 

 버림과 따름(루카복음 14장 25~33)

 많은 군중이 예수님과 함께 길을 가는데, 예수님께서 그들에게 돌아서서 이르셨다. "누구든지 나에게 오면서 자기 아버지와 어머니, 아내와 자녀, 형제와 자매, 심지어 자기 목숨까지 미워하지 않으면, 내 제자가 될 수 없다. 누구든지 제 십자가를 짊어지고 내 뒤를 따라오지 않는 사람은 내 제자가 될 수 없다.

 너희 가운데 누가 탑을 세우려고 하면, 공사를 마칠 만한 경비가 있는지 먼저 앉아서 계산해 보지 않느냐? 그러지 않으면 기초만 놓은 채 마치지 못하여, 보는 이마다 그를 비웃기 시작하며, '저 사람은 세우는 일을 시작만 해 놓고 마치지는 못하였군.' 할 것이다.

 또 어떤 임금이 다른 임금과 싸우러 가려면, 이만 명을 거느리고 자기에게 오는 그를 만 명으로 맞설 수 있는지 먼저 앉아서 헤아려 보지 않겠느냐? 맞설 수 없겠으면, 그 임금이 아직 멀리 있을 때에 사신을 보내어 평화 협정을 청할 것이다.

 이와 같이 너희 가운데에서 누구든지 자기 소유를 다 버리지 않는 사람은 내 제자가 될 수 없다."

 

 루카 복음서 버림과 따름에서 예수님께서 말씀하시는 것은 '무소유'를 말씀하십니다. 이는 사람이 이 세상에 가진 것 없이 태어났던 것처럼 소유하고 있던 것은 죽음에 따라 소유하지 못한 채 떠나는 것을 말합니다.

 그렇다면 성경에서 말하는 '자신의 십자가'는 어떤 것들일까요? 자신의 십자가는 바로 자신이 하고 있는 일에 대한 책임을 말할 것입니다. 책임이라는 것은 우리에게 모든 일에 가까이 있습니다. 한 집안에 가장이었을 때에는 가족을 위한 희생, 기업의 대표이면 직원을 위한 기업 오너로써의 직원의 가정을 생각할 정도의 책임과 희생정신, 어떠한 일을 하는 것에 있어서의 책임감을 갖는 희생 등등 이 모든 것들은 희생할 수 있는 자신을 말하는 것입니다. 자신의 십자가를 짊어지고 주 예수 그리스도를 믿는 사람이 예수님을 따를 수 있는 제자가 된다는 말로 표현됩니다. 

 (What, then, is the Bible's own cross? Your cross will be your responsibility for what you are doing. Responsibility is close to everything for us. Sacrifice for the family in the same family, sacrifice for the responsibility of thinking about the assumption of the employee as the owner of the company for the employee, sacrifice for the responsibility of doing something, etc. I'm talking about myself. It is expressed as saying that a person who carries his cross and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ will be a disciple who can follow Jesus.)

 

 우리는 모두들 자신의 십자가를 짊어지고 태어났습니다. 어떠한 삶을 살지는 모르겠지만 내가 누군가를 위해 책임을 가지고 희생을 하고 있다면 그 모든 십자가를 짊어지고 있는 것입니다. 우리는 예수 그리스도를 따를 수 있는 제자가 될 수 있습니다. 

 (We are all born with our own crosses. I don't know what kind of life I'm going to live, but if I'm making a sacrifice for someone, I'm carrying all that cross. We can be disciples who can follow Jesus Christ.)
